Ian Feinstein

Founder & Chief Pilot

Ian is a second generation native Los Angelino born in 1980. As a child he always gravitated to, wanted to learn more about, and some could say was obsessed with both airplanes and helicopters. His passion for understanding both the technologies that enable flight, and the procedures to ensure safe operation of aircraft was always apparent.

At the age of 13 he took his first introductory flight at Santa Monica airport. He was hooked. He spent every weekend drilling, training and fulfilling his thirst for aeronautical knowledge. Shortly thereafter Ian enrolled and trained in the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol (CAP) program.

In the wake of the devastating 1994 Northridge earthquake Ian was at his CAP 51 squadron the following morning to assist with search and rescue operations. He continued to serve his community for many years in similar positions. This experience put into concrete his life-long passion for helping others with his unique skills and continues as one of his guiding principles.

Over the years Ian progressed with his flying experience and knowledge and when he turned 17 was accepted into an intense aircrew training program, where his primary role was as a scanner/observer in a CAP Cessna 182Q aircraft.

From 2002 until 2009 Ian’s professional experience was primarily in the entertainment industry. He spent several years as a Vault Manager and then Post Production Coordinator at large production houses including Matchframe Video, Ascent Media, and LaserPacific Media where he developed a solid understanding of the video production process as well as supporting facilities and tactical concerns.

Following his initial stretch in TV Ian spent a couple years as a tour manager for a few internationally known rock bands including The Yardbirds, The Bullet Boys, Pretty Boy Floyd and The Vicious Licks. During this time he acted as the primary venue liaison in addition to being accountable for security and transportation for multiple national tours.

When Ian had enough of life on the road he went back into TV in 2012 and obtained a position with The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) which was experiencing massive growth at the time. Ian started as a Facilities Coordinator managing the overall working environment and special events. Based on his broad skillset, dependability and personality he quickly became Oprah’s personal go-to for her personal facility and security needs which speaks to Ian’s demeanor and trustworthiness. After leaving OWN Ian spent a short time working for Jennifer Lopez at the Fuse network.

Following this, in 2022 Ian decided to bring all of his experience to bear and start his own professional drone services company and UAS Aviation was born.

Martin Feinberg

Co-Founder & Director of Operations

Martin was born in Germany in 1975 where he lived for the first nine years of his life before moving to, and living in Israel for one year ahead of his family settling in Chicago, Illinois.

Martin’s father is a highly experienced and respected M.D. who has led hospital ER departments. This influence took Martin down the path of being a medical practitioner caring for others, and also fostered his overall desire to help with human health and safety, regardless of the situation.

Martin met Ian in Los Angeles in the early 1990s through common interest groups around land based, and of course – aerial RC vehicles. Not long after Martin moved to Seattle, Washington to take a position as a facilities coordinator at Boeing where he gained a great deal of industry expertise.

Later, Martin moved back to Los Angeles to be closer to family and his passion for helping others was re-invigorated. He’s worked for over a decade helping special needs children with their general needs in addition to coaching and therapy based upon basketball and piano which are also two of Martin’s life-long passions.

Martin’s primary focus at UAS is on financial operations for the company, but as a pilot he is an expert in long-range, line of sight exercises credited to his steady hand and perfect vision.

When Ian decided to start UAS Aviation, Martin’s interests and over 25 years of friendship positioned him to be the perfect partner.
As they say, when preparation meets opportunity great things will happen!
